Founder

Fateen Majumder, founder of Bearwall.

One person who can run your back-office desks and make the software that runs them. I worked a flooring contractor’s back office from the inside, desk by desk, then automated the repeat work. I can do the same for yours: as a consultant, on retainer, as an advisor, and as the full-stack developer.

The record

What I ran.

Ran AR, AP and back charges for a multi-location builder-flooring contractor on RFMS.

I came in through sales, picked up desk after desk, and automated the repeat work with every write checked before and read back after.

Purchasing
POs for every branch, released to the install schedule. Stock or job-specific ordering to catch quantity breaks, truckload timing, and carpet freight from the mills with per-roll manifests.
Cost and catalog
Supplier prices checked against builders’ contract price books, duplicate catalog records removed, invoices priced above the PO held.
Receivables
Bill and book, cash posting, statements, collections by email and phone, and builder deductions.
Payables
Three-way match, supplier statements, payment preparation, and receipts and payments posted. Supplier B2B ordering and e-invoicing set up in RFMS.
Subcontractor pay
Installer pay, compliance deductions, back charges and retainage, and a subcontractor management system to track them.
Compliance
Vendor and customer onboarding, credit applications, W-9s, certificates of insurance, endorsements and credentialing portals.
Finance reporting
A 13-week cash flow, branch P&L, a mock month-end close, forecasts, workbooks and a leadership dashboard.
Systems and people
RFMS administration (users, API keys, CRM, warehouse), Microsoft 365 and mail administration, warehouse process and SOPs, hiring and onboarding.
Operations and sales
Dispatch prep and receiving when the floor needed hands. Sold and brokered a multifamily renovation account: carpet-to-LVT unit turns.

What I check first

Where a flooring back office loses money.

  1. Work finished in the field but never marked complete, so it never bills.
  2. Price lists that do not match the builder’s contract, so builders short-pay.
  3. Cost keyed in the wrong unit of measure, so a job looks better or worse than it is.
  4. Supplier invoices priced above the PO.
  5. Back charges issued to a builder or an installer and never deducted or recovered.
  6. Supplier catalogs loaded twice: the same item at two costs.
  7. Material bought weeks early, tying up cash, when stock on hand covered the job.

How I work

Read-only first. Then one desk.

Read-only first
I show you what I find before anything changes, then turn on one desk at a time, when you say so.
Checked, read back
Every write is checked before and read back after: plan from your data, make the change, read the system again to prove it.
Exceptions to people
Anything that fails a rule is held for a person you name, with the reason. It never sends money.
Access you control
A key you can revoke. Your passwords and MFA codes stay with your people.
Confidential
I do not publish a past employer’s financials, and yours stay yours.

AI workflow

Current tools, kept in check.

Many flooring offices run on systems and habits that have not changed in years. The work is real, and so is the overhead: keying, re-keying, and chasing what one system knows and another does not.

I bring the current way of working into that office without breaking it. Scripts and the Bearwall operator do the repeat keying, on their own login, inside the system you already run. Your people keep the judgment: pricing, builders, crews and exceptions. The aim is lower overhead, fewer errors and no new hire as you grow, with a written rule behind every step.

I also make what your customers and owners see: websites with real SEO, executive dashboards, job-footprint maps and web apps for phone, tablet and desk.

Work with me

Five ways to start.

  • Free diagnosis.

Send exports, not access. One page back, read-only, yours to keep.

    How the diagnosis works
  • Monthly retainer.

Controller-level back-office work without a full-time controller, and the Bearwall operator kept tuned to your rules.

    Advisory and retainer
  • Advisory.

Process, flows and operations mapped end to end, where the overhead goes, and readiness for a new system.

    What advisory covers
  • New markets.

Entering production builders, multifamily, commercial or retail work: pricing, contracts, suppliers, freight, portals, deductions and retainage.

  • Software.

Back-office automation, websites, dashboards, maps and apps. The demo bills 30 orders on a simulated RFMS, reads all 30 back and undoes them.
